
Dr. Tin Mar San
Dr. Tin Mar San is a distinguished psychologist and psychotherapist with more than two decades of experience across academia, research, and clinical mental health practice. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology, along with an M.Res, M.A. (Credit), and B.A. (Hons) from Yangon University, and further advanced her expertise as a research scholar in prosocial behaviour at the Department of Social Psychology, Ruhr University Bochum in Germany. She is also a registered psychologist with the American Psychological Association (APA). Currently, Dr. Tin Mar San serves as the CEO and Founder of Passionate Heart Mental Health Services and Academy, where she leads with a vision to strengthen mental health care through professional training, trauma-focused therapy, and community outreach. She also serves as a consultant for international organizations such as AJWS, and partners with local organizations. In addition, she contributes her expertise to the BEAM Education Foundation, where she is recognized for her specialization in trauma treatment and her commitment to building stronger mental health systems. As a trained and certified EMDR therapist and supervisor, Dr. Tin Mar San plays an active role in the EMDR Myanmar Association, serving as a trainer and mentor to practitioners in trauma-informed care. Her clinical practice includes work with more than 700 individuals, addressing trauma, anxiety, depression, adjustment challenges, personality-related difficulties, developmental concerns, and overall emotional well-being. Beyond her clinical and supervisory roles, Dr. Tin Mar San is a dynamic trainer, facilitator, and mental health advocate. She has made significant contributions to psychoeducation, psychosocial support, and mental health awareness across Myanmar and beyond. Her leadership is defined by strategic vision, deep empathy, and a lifelong dedication to improving lives through psychological care, education, and community empowerment.
